“As DCS In-Home Caseworker for the — Family, I spent three hours shopping
with mom and 14-year-old daughter at the Flagstaff Mall…Mom and daughter
were building their relationship as the outing transpired; it was beautiful to
observe. As a reminder, less than one year ago, this daughter had left a
children’s home in Mesa, AZ; this was her and her brother’s home for SIX
YEARS. Mom and children have a lot of time to make up for getting to know one
another. This outing could not have happened without the concrete support of
CCFK. DCS is working to make every aspect of this family’s life stronger; we’re
getting there, and CCFK’s help was a big boost in our efforts to move their lives
forward….The family thanked me so many times. I don’t deserve the credit – you
and the CCFK Board deserve infinite gratitude! Thank you, thank you, thank
you!....While shopping for material items meant a lot to this family—all wanted the
14-year-old to look and feel beautiful as she crossed the stage—the
entire process had relationship building moments, positive memory collecting
experiences, and encouragement for a bright and better future ahead. Thank you, thank you, thank you!.”
